Past Work

A press photo I took for "The Wild Duck" in 2009. Christine Demuth, center, played Hedwig.

In late 2007, I decided to change the focus of my artistic energy from acting to directing. Although I’d just finished directing my first full length play, directing felt so natural. Since then I’ve had the opportunity to direct several works for Single Carrot Theatre, and a few others.

In my directing I am drawn to big challenges, work with a purpose, stories beautifully told, great language, the questions of our humanity, visual poetry, and more. I enjoy directing classics, modern masterpieces, new work, and devised work. I always enjoy the incorporation of music and movement, and although I haven’t directed any musicals yet, I’m hoping to do so in the future.

Above, if you hover over the Directing and Past Work tabs, you can follow links to productions I’ve directed. The links variously contain production and rehearsal photos, my thoughts on the production, and video.
